THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY IN CONCERT    •   4.07.15 - 4.12.15

For the first time ever in North America, the complete film trilogy, The Lord of the Rings, will be presented live, in concert, April 7-12, 2015. Beneath a giant screen, the Academy Award-winning scores by Howard Shore will be performed by 250 musicians, on stage, including symphony orchestra, chorus and soloists. Two complete trilogies, Wednesday-Friday, April 8-10, and Saturday-Sunday, April 11-12.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy In Concert, at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, features the 21st Century Orchestra of Lucerne, Switzerland, conducted by Ludwig Wicki, which specializes in bringing films and their scores to life, and performs an annual program of film concerts at the KKL Luzern. THE ROYAL BALLET    •   6.23.15 - 6.28.15

The Joyce Theater Foundation is proud to present The Royal Ballet in its first New York appearance since 2004. The engagement opens with a gala performance of Frederick Ashton’s The Dream, featuring some of the choreographer’s “most quirkily beautiful choreography” (The Guardian, London). Inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the work will also appear on a program with Kenneth MacMillan’s Song of the Earth. The third program is a mixed bill devoted to Wayne McGregor’s Infra; Liam Scarlett’s The Age of Anxiety; and Divertissements, highlights from the company ’s repertory that include the central pas de deux from Royal Ballet Artistic Associate Christopher Wheeldon’s Aeternum.
