Event Spaces
The Promenade and the Auditorium of the David H. Koch Theater are available for select special events. As a jewel in the crown of Lincoln Center, the David H. Koch Theater features stunning architecture, magnificent examples of modern art and offers technically superior production facilities. This unique venue features one of the largest interior event spaces in New York City.
The 7,875 square foot promenade area features inlaid Travertine marble floors, forty-foot gold leaf ceilings, dramatic spiral staircases and balconies overlooking the fountain in the Plaza of Lincoln Center. The auditorium seats 2,586 with a continental style configuration on the orchestra level and five Ring levels studded with “jewel” faceted lights. An immense spherical chandelier is the centerpiece of the ornately paneled gold ceiling.
Studio Spaces
The Koch Theater and the Rose Building have six separate studio spaces with resilient floors that are designed primarily for dance, but can also support orchestral music rehearsals, master classes, and other educational activities.
Availability
The Auditorium and ancillary space availability varies throughout the year depending on performance and rehearsal schedules of New York City Ballet and outside renters. Theater rentals for performing arts groups are generally by the week, but on Mondays when the theater is occupied by NYCB or an outside renter the Promenade is often available regardless because that is usually a dark night. Many galas and other special events take place on the Promenade on Mondays as a result.
The Boardroom has consistent availability throughout the year. The Rose Building Studios are generally available when New York City Ballet is not in season, best availability is in the summer.
The Vogelstein, Nadler and Solomon Studios in the Koch Theater have similar availability. Email events@davidhkochtheater.com for rental information.
